The municipality reaffirms its commitment to placing participatory democracy at the heart of its actions by launching the third edition of its Participatory Citizen Budget. This initiative allows each of you to become a stakeholder in the transformation of our commune by proposing concrete projects to improve everyone’s daily life.
A total budget of €50,000 is entirely reserved for financing winning ideas. This citizen co-construction tool is structured around several major steps and themes to closely meet your expectations:
- Living environment and ecological transition: greening of public spaces, creation of cool islands, installation of shared compost bins, or development of urban biodiversity.
- Solidarity, social cohesion, and culture: creation of intergenerational conviviality spaces, children’s play areas, or implementation of local cultural initiatives.
- Soft mobility and safety: securing school surroundings, installing new bike racks, or improving lighting on pedestrian pathways.
Who can participate? The scheme is open to all residents of Démo-sur-Orne aged 16 or over, whether acting individually or as part of a group (neighbourhood association, group of residents, etc.). No specific technical skills are required: the municipal technical services will assess the technical and financial feasibility of the proposals received.
2026 Timeline:
- 1 September to 15 November 2026: Submission of project applications.
- December 2026: Feasibility study by municipal services and the citizen selection committee.
- January 2027: Voting phase open to all residents to select the finalists.
- Throughout 2027: Implementation of winning projects funded by the commune.
