Soft mobility has taken a decisive step forward in Démo-sur-Orne with the official opening of the new cycle link connecting the residential area of Quartier des Prés Verts to the town centre.
Spanning 3.5 kilometres, this modern infrastructure has been designed to meet residents’ changing travel needs:
- A two-way, fully secure cycle path, completely separated from motorised traffic.
- Lighting provided by solar-powered LED lighting bollards, ensuring optimal visibility during early morning and winter evening journeys.
- Installation of five new sheltered cycle parking areas near key public facilities and local shops.
Funded 60% by regional and European grants under the cycling plan, this project reflects the town’s strong commitment to alternative transport modes and reducing the local carbon footprint.
