Astronomy enthusiasts, families and curious minds are invited this Friday from 9:30 PM on the plateau of Démo-sur-Orne for a free night-time vigil, organised in partnership with the regional amateur astronomers’ association.
Taking advantage of a privileged and light-pollution-free site, this evening offers several activities:
- Access to three professional telescopes to observe the Moon’s craters, Saturn’s rings and distant star clusters in real time.
- Workshops on identifying constellations with the naked eye, guided by astronomical laser pointers.
- A space for exchange and Q&A to learn about observation techniques and astrophotography.
In the event of unfavourable weather conditions (overcast skies or storms), a backup plan is in place with an interactive conference projected in the municipal council chamber on solar system exploration. Free entry, open to all without prior registration.
